BackgroundHamasaki Mika was born in Tuliyollal and almost promptly adopted by a roegadyn couple and their young son. They took the newborn viera back to Othard with them on their trading vessel and raised her in a rather traditional Hingan home. She was never really curious about why she looks different from her parents or brother, dedicating her curiosity to educational pursuits instead.She's very close with her older brother, tending to stay close to him when she can. Being raised in the Far East, she sometimes struggles with the culture of Eorzea. She has a tendency to blend Hingan with the common tongue or to even forget that she knows common at all (when she's flustered or talking to someone else from the Far East). The familiar use of her first name tends to illicit a blush from her, since only those who are close to her usually call her by it back home.A lover of fun facts, she's a tried and true nerd. While her brother's venturing out to find work, she's traveling the star to dedicate herself to studying abroad and learning all she can about everything Hydaelyn has to offer outside of Kugane and Othard. Her current project is learning magic, but she'll be more than happy to spout off a random fun fact or six about things that interest her.

Mika has an affinity for things that others may find unsettling: bats, frogs, vilekin, and snakes. She's likely to spout off a fact or a few about any of those. However, there are dozens of things that she could spout off facts about... if given the chance to.While she does have a steep learning curve and tends to be stubborn about not needing a formal teacher when she can learn from tomes just as quickly, she is still hoping to find teachers to help her on her journey.
